PatienTree, Inc. is recognized for savvy on security and bedside “Point of Care” technologies.
Tampa,Florida, November 8, 2004: Today, in a published article “A Tool for Doctors, Portal for Patients” by Kris Hundley of the St. Petersburg Times, PatienTree customers and prospects spoke with enthusiasm about the expertise, customer satisfaction and excitement regarding the company and product line.
Three years ago, the PatienTree story began, and, as it‘s been said, ‘”Necessity is the Mother of Invention”. So it was for two brothers who fought cancer at different times in their lives. As most new companies it all started with a legal pad, and in this case, two brothers who sat in a hospital room in Pennsylvania trying to pass the time and stay connected to their careers and family.
PatienTree, now it its’ third year of operation, after the passing of one of the founders, Thomas Letzeisen, continues to march into the Health Care arena providing Secure Remote Access to hospital data systems and bedside “Point of Care” patient communications product. “I was fairly emotional while reading the article Kris Hundley wrote. It is easy to get wrapped up in the daily events and miss the opportunity to step back and be reminded of where you started”. “Kris gave me that opportunity today, and I sincerely thank her and the St. Pete Times”, stated Bob Letzeisen, President of PatienTree. “It was even more fulfilling to see the feed back from Lynn Henrich and Jan Sanchez of UCH and FHMD respectively, both of whom are respected professionals in their fields and very personal people.” “It’s nice to know you can make small contributions along the way and customers still appreciate your efforts to insure their satisfaction”.
As stated by the Director of IS Technical Services at University Community Hospital Lynn Henrich. “We needed a way to securely transmit information to remote users outside our campus and it’s worked out really well.” “Bob is one of the best salesmen I have ever met” Currently, at University Community Hospital the software is now being used by more than 50 doctor’s offices and another 50 home user’s in addition to the hospital staffers.
Jan Sanchez, Director of the Birthing Center for Florida Hospital Memorial Division in Ormond Beach, is so enthusiastic about PatienTree that she has proposed the purchase for each bed in her unit, as well for a new building to be built in 2008. Sanchez stated “It could be revenue-producing in the long run; I’d like to see it in our facility. I think it would give us a market edge.”
Crissi Sundin, a recent user of the product while a patient at FHMD’s Birthcare Center sent pass codes to relatives in Georgia, Alabama, and Germany. “It was like having the whole family with me sharing the birth of my daughter.”
