FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 18, 2005

AEP Networks Netilla Security Platform (NSP) won the Reader Trust Award for the "Best VPN Solution" at the SC Magazine Awards ceremony held Feb. 16 at the RSA Security Conference in San Francisco, California.  This is significant for PatienTree who has closely adopted the technology as the PatienTree Security Trunk, and began doing so three years ago.

PatienTree, a Point of Care and Communications software company in Tampa, Fl, announced today that the same platform which powers the PatienTree Security Trunk, the AEP Netilla Security Platform (NSP), was awarded high honors at this years RSA Security conference.  The NSP helps companies satisfy one of their most pressing needs: Making business applications remotely available to employees and partners, no where is this more critical then inside of today’s healthcare industry which is closely guided by the HIPAA standards. Reggie Best, executive vice president and general manager of AEP Networks' Secure Application Access Business Unit, states "This award formally recognizes what our customers and resellers already know: that the NSP excels at providing secure remote access to the broadest range of applications, combined with the most advanced policy enforcement and authorization features."

“As Reggie stated, this is formal recognition by the best in the industry, validating the technology partner selection PatienTree made three years ago when we set out on our own quest for innovative security solutions which would compliment the PatienTree product line” stated Robert Letzeisen, President of PatienTree.  He further stated “We are pleased and proud to represent this product as a tightly integrated part of our Point of Care initiatives for hospital staff and patient services for enhanced delivery of EMR systems and our patient information/entertainment systems.”

The PatienTree Trunk, Powered by the Netilla Security Platform is an ICSA-certified, enterprise-class SSL VPN appliance that delivers secure remote access to the broadest range of enterprise applications via standard Web browsers. Its versatile design incorporates three SSL access modes – thin, Web and tunnel – that provide access to client/server, Web/intranet and "fat client" applications. The Netilla V-Realms Client Identity Engine makes it easy to create multiple realms for different classes of users, each with distinct authentication and authorization policies.

The latest release edition 5.0 incorporates advanced client integrity protection that includes Secure Desktop, cache cleaning and host integrity. The “PatienTree Trunk” NSP is available in three different classes (B, G and E) that can support up to 2,000 concurrent users.
