PatienTree, Tampa, FL continues to deliver “The Power to Care from Anywhere!”
PatienTree and Intelligent Clothing, announced today they have entered into an agreement for wireless hospital patient tele-monitoring in the US market.
TAMPA, Fla. – November 5, 2004 – PatienTree, a leading provider of Point of Care and Communications products for healthcare, announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Intelligent Clothing based in the UK and are in discussions to form an exclusive partnership for the technology to be offered by PatienTree Inc. in the US for adult monitoring. Intelligent Clothing (IC) a UK based healthcare technology company, offers the most innovative solution for wireless cardio-respiratory, oxygen saturation and temperature health monitoring. IC’s focus to date has been at one of the most critical areas of safety in healthcare, neonatal care. IC’s SmartPatch™ and SmartBand technologies, when combined with PatienTree, offer caregivers and patients the opportunities for enhanced safety, early warning alerts, and a crystal clear view of critical patient data, from anywhere. The health data can be displayed at the PatienTree care station or, via a secured connection, or over the Web for remote physician viewing.
IC engineers, by utilizing an Inductive radio magnetic field, have achieved stellar results in communications of the captured data. With many significant derivative benefits from this technology and the “Care Control Software” suite, patient data can now be examined in seconds versus days. As IC continually enhances their offerings and maintains their focus on prenatal and neonatal care, they saw a great opportunity in the adult patient care market for which they have now selected PatienTree as their exclusive US representative.
Bob Letzeisen, President and Founder of PatienTree stated “I can not imagine a better technology partner as we strive to add more caregiver value to our PatienTree suite of products.” “The accomplishments IC has achieved in this space have been noted by many prestigious care providers, healthcare educators and research professionals from here, as well as abroad.” “If you believe as I do, that better outcomes are greatly influenced by enhanced safety and early warnings, you most likely also support the requirements for quicker and more ubiquitous information access.” “We all understand the value of data especially when it comes to patient care, safety, and as a research tool.” “But technology needs to provide data as real information which can be quickly accessed then analyzed and that’s where IC is setting the standards” Mr. Letzeisen went on to say. “I am proud top be associated with the IC team and look forward to sharing in the significant impact the technology will make in adult patient care.
Alan Magill, President and Founder of Intelligent Clothing stated “The IC system is the only wireless multi-parameter telehealthcare system of its kind and the opportunity for us to adopt our pediatric systems for the adult environment of PatienTree’s bedside products is very welcome and will be enthusiastically pursued. The vertical integration of the Patientree display and hospital intranet with IC’s wireless monitoring means that a high standard of 24/7 healthcare can be provided at reduced cost – the single display provides bedside entertainment, IT services and health monitoring. To the best of our knowledge this dual functionality is unique and we very much look forward to assisting Patientree capitalize on this powerful commercial advantage.
